Welcome to Temple Emanu-El

Temple Emanu-El is a Reform Jewish synagogue, affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. It is located at 6299 Capri Drive, in the neighborhood of Del Cerro, in the city of San Diego, California. We strive to build in our congregation a community and a family for our membership. We hope your connection with our temple will be meaningful and rewarding for you and your family.

Temple Emanu-El is...

  • An environment where the spiritual needs of the congregants are met through worship in accordance with the Jewish tradition.
  • A religious education for children & adults that cultivates a love and understanding of Jewish faith & heritage.
  • A facility that stimulates fellowship in the Jewish community and strengthens the bonds of loyalty with Jewish people everywhere.

As you are no doubt aware, a severe earthquake has devastated Haiti. The death toll is expected to reach hundreds of thousands and it likely will be sometime before the impact is fully known. According to the International Red Cross, as many as three million people have been affected by the quake.
The Reform Jewish community has a long history of generosity when natural disasters devastate communities around the world. Your generosity at this critical time enables us to play a role in recovery efforts and bring healing and hope to those whose lives have been affected.

Shabbat This Week

February 12-13, 2010
29 Shevat 5770

Parashat Mishpatim
Shabbat Sh'kalim
Exodus 21:1 - 24:18

There might be something really important for me to do today, but I'm not sure I'll recognize it when I see it.  Help me, then, to make sure to greet everyone I meet today with a cheerful face: What can be more important than that?
